What Jesus Would Say To...: Louis Farrakhan
August 10, 1996 (Weekend Service)
Louis Farrakhan is the leader of the Nation of Islam, a Chicago based religion that teaches that theres no hope for African-Americans through Christianity. As a young boy growing up in the Christian church, Farrakhan encountered extensive hypocrisy and racism between white and black members. In an effort to seek justice for his people, he turned to Islam and began teaching that blacks were not just equal to whites, but greatly superior. He continues to teach that W.D. Fard, the founder of the Nation of Islam, was God incarnate and that Elijah Muhammad, his successor, was the true Messiah. Jesus would sympathize with Louis Farrakhan and agree that African-Americans are a valuable people, worthy of fighting for. He would then tell him that positive change can only take place when people choose to return hate with love. Jesus would tell Louis Farrakhan that Jesus is the Messiah, one who has the power to give people love and break down the downward spiral of hate
