Achieving Financial Freedom: Preparing A Freedom Plan
January 20, 1996 (Weekend Service)
Coming up with a long-term financial plan is not about having more money. It is about your willingness to honor God and become a person of character. Malachi 3:8-10 has some specific instructions about bringing a full ten percent tithe to your place of worship. God promises to bless those who honor Him with the first portion of their paycheck, so make a commitment to sacrifice for the work of the local church. The Bible says, A wise man saves up for the future. When you discipline yourself to deposit an additional ten percent of your income into a savings account or investment fund, you not only force yourself to live and spend wisely, but you also reward yourself with future financial security. You can use the remaining eighty percent to support your family, pay the bills, and enjoy life. However, once you see the power that this type of a plan has, you just may want to save or give more.
