Father's Day 1997
June 14, 1997 (Weekend Service)
Many people idolize their fathers. They diminish any pain that came from him, hold him in high esteem, and only celebrate the good things that his life was about. Other people practice regular dad-bashings and focus on what their father couldn't provide them. However, honoring our fathers requires that we come into the reality that these men have simultaneously blessed and crippled our lives. In this message, Bill Hybels honors his own father by honestly reflecting on the positive and negative ways in which he has influenced him.
