Prayer: Praying For One Another

March 22, 1997 (Weekend Service)

The Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7 that when we pray for one another, we lift up each other's circumstances up to God and a peace that passes human understanding enters our lives. Praying for one another is an adventure. Just think, you are speaking with the God who can change the course of human history, the God who can spring worlds into existence. Jesus understood the power of prayer. This is why we see Him consistently praying for the well being of His disciples. God can change another individual's heart through prayer. This is why it is considered one of the purest expressions of love available to us. God can also work in you and change you as you pray for others. He can cause you to begin loving those whom you previously hated. Over and over in the Bible, we see that God responds to those who pray.
