The Bible says that the ultimate commandment is to love God and to love people. Betrayal is the antithesis of love. It is when you take those you have promised to love and wound them instead. Jesus did not say, "Let people betray you, and don't do anything about it." Nor did He command us to get even. Rather, only through the power of forgiveness can we heal the deepest scars of betrayal.
