There are several different reasons why people decide to give things away. The most basic motivation is born out of self-interest. People will pay their dues at this level, yet they still get to enjoy what it is that they are paying for. Others give because they feel a debt of gratitude. Someone has helped them in the past and they feel obligated to return the favor. However, the third level of giving is much more difficult to execute. This is obedient giving, which is rooted in the promptings of the Holy Spirit. The more you listen to these promptings, the more dangerous, strategic, and serious you become about leveraging your resources for God's Kingdom.
