Loving Sundays: What We Believe

September 19, 1998 (Weekend Service)

This message serves as a verbal tour through Willow Creek's Statement of Faith. A statement of faith serves as a congregation's compass. Willow's statement mentions that the Bible is the sole authority on faith and practice. The statement also identifies the Trinity and God as Creator, while it pursues the idea of personal salvation. In addition, the statement claims Jesus Christ as the world's Savior and mediator between God and us, and it identifies the Holy Spirit and its properties. Further, the statement indicates the eventual destiny of humans, explains the attributes of the Church body and finally, identifies how to deal with items on which the Bible may not speak.
