Jesus says in our conversations that we should let "our yes be yes and our no be no." The whole issue of personal "boundaries" results from this phrase. Those of us who live lives with weak boundaries in friendships, with family, at the place of work and in our spiritual lives are usually compliant types of folks. Unfortunately, compliants ultimately end up overcommitted, exhausted, self-absorbed, resentful and guilty. It is therefore, important for us to develop strong boundaries in order to improve our relationships with people and with God.
