No Fear [1999]: Part 1
August 7, 1999 (Weekend Service)
Good fear teaches us appropriate boundaries, while bad fear paralyzes us from doing what we can do. There are costs in living in bad fear. Living in fear eats away at one's self-worth, it produces stagnation in our lives, it prevents us from experiencing joy, it can produce regret at life's end and it can be contagious to others. But we don't have to fear. The top command in Scripture is "Fear not." Trusting in Jesus means there is nothing in life we can't overcome, because we have the Creator of the universe on our side. To handle anything that comes our way, because God is with us, is the way He wants us to live.
