Making The Most of Your Marriage: The Love of Your Life
February 13, 1999 (Weekend Service)
Married couples that make God the center of their union use three C-words critically important to their marriage's success. "Communication" is one of those words, but the way we communicate in a marriage is just as important as communicating itself. Fault-finding, rather than being each other's cheerleader, is counter-productive communication. A second key area is "compatibility." We must allow God to move us away from clashing over differences closer to celebrating uniqueness. "Conflict resolution" is also key. God should be allowed to move us from confilct-avoiders to conflict-facers. To see how each of us fares in the three C's, we must ask ourselves this question: "How would I like to be married to me?" We may be surprised in what we find.
