Toward the end of their forty-year desert journey, after spending a year at the Horeb mountain range, God told the Hebrew people they'd been at the mountain long enough and it was time to move on to the land he promised them. This message challenges us to name our mountain, that place where we're stuck in the comfort of bad habits or bad attitudes or maybe just immovability and from which God wants us to turn and get moving to that better place he desires for us. Accepting this challenge at the beginning of a new year and following through with the helpful suggestions to make it last will mean a well-deserved celebration at year-end.
