In the history of Willow Creek, the 2000s comprised the decade when the church took major strides to serve an ever-growing church population. Through the generosity of the congregation, the present auditorium was built, more funding was given to international training through the Willow Creek Association, and regional campuses were birthed. Compassion and justice ministries came alive as volunteers began to serve with food distribution to church members in need, offered car repair for single moms, and provided resources to help combat the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Celebration of Hope, initiated in 2005, continues its yearly focus on serving the global poor. All attributed: Only God.
