Soundtrack: The Songs and Stories that Shape Us: Part 2: the 80's

September 20, 2015 (Weekend Service)

For Willow Creek, the decade of the '80s meant moving into a permanent church home, followed by six building programs, staff and budget increases, the development of a seeker philosophy, the defining of a seven-step strategy, and the decision to allow women to lead and teach. Although some aspects of this still young church were labeled as controversial by Christian traditionalists, regular attendance of over eleven thousand by the end of the decade showed God's movement for his kingdom at the church. The spiritual temperature of Willow rose in this era as attenders took to heart the reminder that ninety-five percent devotion to God is five percent short.
