Fear can overwhelm with all the negative connotations we attach to it. But just as David faced Goliath, confident that earlier experiences of fighting bears or lions to protect his sheep prepared him for facing a giant, this message gives power to the factors of fear that move us forward once we've conquered it in a past experience. We learn that under God's guidance, conquering the fears of our past prepares us to face the giants in our present.
