In the Acts 8 story of the Ethiopian eunuch, we learn that whatever minimum of time Philip shared the story of Jesus with the eunuch was enough for the eunuch to want to be immediately baptized. This message of disturbing grace reminds us that when we likewise accept the free gift of grace, we are called to Baptism as a symbolic act of sealing the deal. We don't have to have all the answers to our faith, and we mustn't worry about what others think. It is between each individual and the God who knew we couldn't perfect ourselves and who loved us enough to provide the means of justification through his Son.
