The result of the Christmas story came about by a lot of hard and courageous choices by Joseph and Mary. We can learn much from what they went through. They were a righteous couple and in that day, like today, being righteous in living is not without its difficulties. When Joseph learned that Mary was pregnant, he could have treated her with judgment, but he treated her with grace. We can remember that when we gather with family members (even some that wronged us), it's best to follow Joseph and his wife's lead in trusting in God. If they could trust God in their lives, certainly we can trust that God works for our good.
