There are three camps of people that relate to God differently. One is the group that has a very intimate relationship with Him. At the other extreme are those who despise or totally ignore God. A third broad camp is made up of those who recognize God and have, at best, a casual relationship with Him. However, according to Scripture, God only sees two groups: the ones who have a strong relationship with Him and those that don't. God wants to have that vital relationship with us in three ways. As the ultimate judge of the human race, as a reconciler of people, and as a friend of individuals. In these ways, we can consider His presence as the ultimate relationship.
