Tools For The New Millenium: Calculator - Managing You
January 22, 2000 (Weekend Service)
The unfortunate reality about money today is that people routinely mismanage their finances. A great majority of people spend more money than they earn, fail to establish financial plans, ignore investment opportunities, keep their money to themselves, and worst of all, many people aren't even bothered by it. Where is discipline? Where is perseverance? The Bible teaches that Jesus has liberated us from the chains of sin, so why would we choose to enslave ourselves to the bonds of financial indebtedness? If we can adopt the 10/10/80 rule, our financial lives will become a win-win-win deal. God wins when we invest 10 percent of our income into His Kingdom. We allow ourselves win when we save 10 percent of our income for the future. And by cutting back our daily spending to only 80 percent of all we earn, we ensure ourselves a long and sustainable financial lifestyle.
