RISK: Week Three
June 3, 2012 (Weekend Service)
Christ-followers who are hesitant to take the risk of reaching out to seekers or non-believers because of their personal feelings of inadequacy due to past disappointment, doubt, lack of faith, or fear, need to remember those who Jesus, in the forty days between the Resurrection and Ascension, commissioned to carry out the work of building the kingdom of God. They were men and women who fit each of those reasons for hesitation. This message also reminds us that we should not think the process of outreach is about us calling God to come alongside in what it is we want to do, but rather that it is God calling us to meet him in the work that he is already doing.
