When Christ-followers do not have a mindset to give of their resources or of their time, talents, and effort to the poor and oppressed of the world, it is likely because of one of the five reasons upon which this message expands. Although over two thousand verses in the Bible relate to caring for the poor and God is very clear about his promises to those who do partner with him in alleviating suffering, taking that first step can feel overwhelming or uncertain, even scary. But every single person does have something they can present to God and that God can use and multiply as he sees fit to bring relief to the everyday suffering of millions of people across the globe.
