Life Verse: Week 1: Philippians 1:21
March 4, 2012 (Weekend Service)
Philippians 1:21-For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain-was the verse on which Heather Larson wanted to set the focus and resolve of her life as she looked to her future after college. As she immersed herself in the Book of Philippians, she was struck by four basic themes throughout that give perspective into Paul's amazing spirit despite being in chains in prison: clear focus, boundless perseverance, deep-rooted joy, and the presence and power of God. This message challenges us to consider the attitude of Paul and what the words of Philippians 1:21 mean in our lives as it meant in his; and we are encouraged to find a Scripture verse to claim, perhaps for a season, perhaps for a lifetime.
