Using the Old Testament story of Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers but remaining in God's favor, this message reinforces for us the rightness of proffering favor to others once it has been given us. In a racially-charged world, which Pastor Carey has experienced firsthand, we're reminded that God is ever-present and can turn what was intended for harm into good. Christ-followers need to extend to others both the religious freedom we know through Christ and the societal freedom that should encompass all races and ethnicities in our nation and around the world.
