Celebration of Hope 2010: We Serve
April 17, 2010 (Weekend Service)
The second element of the key verse, Micah 6:8, for Celebration of Hope is 'to love mercy.' Scripture provides a most dramatic model of this when King David takes into his household Mephibosheth, the crippled son of Jonathan, his best friend who was killed in battle. Although we have Scripture evidence of David's merciful action, this message speaks to how it might have been for Mephibosheth and asks the question: What is it in today's stricken world that will prompt a Christ-follower to empathize and be moved to action to demonstrate mercy to someone in need? Whenever God has a key assignment that he wants to get done in this world, he searches out one of his children who is dialed in, fired up, fully surrendered, and totally open to promptings. Are you ready?
