In God We Trust: Part 3
February 27, 2010 (Weekend Service)
It's no secret to any of us living in the United States that consumerism is out of control. Marketing agencies are very successful in letting us know how much better our lives will be when we purchase whatever product they're pushing—and their pitch comes at the youngest members of our society with as much emphasis as it does to the adult population. This message reminds us that consumerism fulfilled is toxic to the human soul, and out-of-control spending limits our generosity to those in need. Our rampantly expansive consumerism does not lead to the life that God wants for us—the life that is truly life.
