God is always available to offer his comfort, but as this message reminds us, we need to do a few things to be open to the whispers from God that provide that comfort. First, if necessary, we must reframe our image of God from that of an angry, judgmental parent to that of a compassionate, tender father. Second, we have to learn how to wait with patience, being attentive and still and creating space for God to show up. Then we must learn how to receive. That means handing over the reins of our life to God and declaring our dependence on him. God wants to be in relationship with each of us. He wants to whisper his comfort, and we must do our part to allow it to happen.
