Jesus Uncensored: Part 3

November 24, 2007 (Weekend Service)

Description
In his brief time of teaching on earth, Jesus often said things that were shocking to his listeners and that today's readers of Scripture find difficult to understand. This three-part series presents historical background and offers interpretation on Jesus' comments about gouging out your eye or cutting off your hand if they are a cause of sin, about being unable to be his follower unless you hate your family members and life itself, and about eating his flesh and drinking his blood. The words in themselves may be disconcerting to hear, but the reasoning behind them, the clarification of their meaning, and the application to our lives reinforces the intent of a good God wanting us to live the best life possible in preparation for eternity in his presence.
