One of seekers' most common questions is if prayer really works. One of the reasons this is asked is because there is actual doubt about prayer. Faith and doubting are not mutually exclusive concepts. The amount of faith someone has does not matter as much as is the object of that faith. Some people are actually afraid to pray, but God tells us to bring our needs to Him anyway. He may not answer in the way we want, but He will answer in a way that benefits us. We need to make the effort, not because prayer is a duty, but it forges a relationship with a mighty God, who loves us and wants to converse with us when we pray.
