Is God...: Part 1, Tolerant or Judgemental?

October 21, 2006 (Weekend Service)

If you’re wondering where God falls along the continuum between tolerance or judgmentalism, you need only look to the behavior and attitude of Jesus as he responded to a variety of sin issues encountered in his earthly walk. Three New Testament stories help us grasp the reality that the same God who is repulsed by religious pride is also an acceptance magnet and an extender of grace to sinners. God will eventually be judge to all. Christ-followers are assured that the cross is the bridge between the justice of God and the love of God. And we need to extend that bridge by adhering to the biblical command of tolerance to “accept one another, just as Christ accepted you.”
