There are many aspects to church leadership that cause it to be the important job it is today. Leaders have to know the vision of their church. Not only do they lead their flock, but they lead staff, they must be accountable to other leaders (such as elders), and they must self-lead. Leaders have to be on track with their "calling" and must lead in a way that is above reproach. Church leaders must get beyond their fears, and most importantly, they must preach Christ and tell the truth about sin and salvation. In these ways will a church leader succeed, rather than simply guide, their congregation.
