Cracking the Da Vinci Code: Part 3, Are Women the Enemy of the Church?
May 13, 2006 (Weekend Service)
The Da Vinci Code novel contends that the early male-dominated church suppressed the fact that Jesus Christ intended for Mary Magdalene to lead his church into the future and that the church has continued to devalue women throughout the centuries. The Mary Magdalene part is an unfounded claim, but some segments of society today, including the church, often do reinforce the devaluation of women. Christians need to remember that Scripture clearly states that God created male and female in his image, blessed them and told them to rule over the other living creatures of the air, water, and ground. And all of Jesus' interactions with women and the ongoing roles of women in the early church reinforced their dignity and value. God wants women to be dangerous, inside and outside the church, for his causes in this world. Click here to view the package
