Graduate Level Loving: When Love Breaks Down

January 27, 2001 (Weekend Service)

In Matthew 18, Jesus gives clear marching orders about what to do when love breaks down in relationships. First, drop everything and immediately address the person in private. Second, tell them your side of the story. Third, understand the other's perspective and seek reconciliation. Ninety percent of the time such an approach will re-establish love, trust, and respect in the relationship. If this does not work, bring in a group of mediators to help you settle the dispute.
