The Bible teaches that the test of genuine faith is love. It is impossible to swallow the love of God and appropriate the transforming power of Jesus Christ without exploding with compassion for others. Sometimes it is easy to love. But graduate level loving may not always be assisted by soft, warm feelings. Graduate level loving requires obedience and discipline. It can sometimes be painful and full of joylessness. The Bible asks us to choose love daily and grow in our love capacity.
