For the Artist's Toolbox

Here’s a sampling of recent music from other WCA Member Churches that might provide motivation or ideas for your own services. In addition, we’ve included some helpful third-party software that may aid in your production efforts as you create your church services.

MUSIC

Spring Branch Community Church
Virginia Beach, Virginia

Live@Eleven — This unique CD has live recordings of many secular songs that can be used in seeker services. Selections from Bruce Springsteen, Celine Dion, Andrew Lloyd Weber, and even Charlie Daniels’ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

Crosspointe Church
Cary, North Carolina

Becoming Stones — The driving “Worthy to Receive All Praise,” in addition to a reworking of the classic “I Surrender All” are just a couple of the highlights from this all-volunteer recorded CD.

Orchard Hill Church
Wexford, Pennsylvania

Live From Orchard Hill — An impressive array of secular and sacred, this all-instrumental album is ideal for musical preludes, offertories, and other moments when words are not needed.

North Point Community Church
Alpharetta, Georgia

Freedom — From their “7:22” single adults group, this enhanced CD contains edgy worship from the very first track until the last.

Cornerstone — North Point’s worship leader (and former Kansas backup singer) Michael Gleason unleashes a collection of 12 well-polished songs including the contagious “Glorious, Wonderful,” and the in-your-face “High and Mighty.”

Coast Hills Community Church
Aliso Viejo, California

Called — A collection of songs recorded by artists at Coast Hills Church who have been called to reach out to the culture for Christ through music. Standouts include the jazzy “When I’m 6/6,” and the patriotic “21 Guns.”

SOFTWARE

Igniter Videos — For churches who can’t afford to create their own videos, Igniter Videos fills the void. These ready-to-go videos (with musical accompaniment) address issues like compassion, loneliness, creation, God’s promises, and more. In addition, the Igniter Backs is a three-disc collection of loopable motion backgrounds, countdowns and still images for use in church services. www.ignitermedia.com

Media Shout — PowerPoint not quite cutting it for you? With Media Shout, lyrics, Bible verses, videos, or graphics are just a click away. And you never have to interrupt what is already happening on the screen to do it. Display your texts over full motion backgrounds, add soundtracks, create announcement loops, or use media to add depth of understanding to a message or song. Windows version is currently available and Mac version is in development. www.mediashout.com

ProPresenter — For the multimedia user who requires even greater control, ProPresenter is a Mac OSX application that’s jammed with advanced multimedia capabilities. Its simplicity and one year of free updates is why it’s used by Passion, Chris Tomlin, and hundreds of other ministries around the world that recognize that worship presentation must be stable, easy-to-use, and powerful. www.propresenter.com
