Let Go / Open Up

Throughout our lives we carry around personal baggage from our past. As our baggage becomes more and more burdensome, the emotional strain can be very overwhelming. In Let Go, we are introduced to Jen, who is in the midst of a great struggle within herself over her relationship with God. Her raw emotions and honest feelings pour out in this emotionally charged conversation with God. She doubts herself and faith in the power of the Lord. Jen wants to believe that her pain can be swept away but she desperately seeks proof on how the Lord works. Will God take away our burdens if we just offer them to him?

The monologue "Let Go" comes together with Greg Ferguson's song, "Open Up." This scene/song package creatively explores the challenge of surrender and God's trustworthiness. The song and the monologue weave together in a complex and exciting style.
