Description

As shown at The Leadership Summit 2006, this profound 6-minute teaching tool on substitutionary atonement will challenge your church, Small Group, or seeker friends.

Filmed on location at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, in Washington D.C., this segment honors the lives of all who have chosen to sacrifice their lives for their country. Bill Hybels focuses on the compelling story of a young Chicago man who threw himself on a live grenade during the Vietnam War. Milton Olive III made a choice both specific and intentional: to save the lives of his comrades. Those friends have subsequently lived their lives in gratitude for Milton's sacrificial act. The powerful imagery of this example provides a strong lead-in for the ultimate message: Christ intentionally took the live grenade of the Cross, not just for a few people, but for all of humanity. In light of this, how will we choose to live out our lives?

A great DVD for patriotic holidays
Bill does a great job talking about Olive. He puts the concept of the sacrifice of war into a great context. Emotional without pushing the heavy button.
