Planning for the first church building, expanding present church facilities, and building to accommodate the next era of church growth, are all huge undertakings. They are the most capitol intensive challenges facing a church. Errors in fund raising, planning, and building can be disastrous.

Over the years many WCA Member Churches have shared with us their building project horror stories. Too often we have heard that the church wasn't properly prepared with a clear plan of what their specific church needs were now and in the future. Many churches lost thousands of dollars when architectural plans had to be discarded because they did not reflect the reality of their church's specific needs and budgets.

Churches have asked for help in locating reputable architects and builders who understand the unique needs of innovative, seeker-targeted churches. We realize that the work of the church is to reach seekers and build believers — not architecture and building. And that dollars that could go towards ministry are lost when the building process is handled without appropriate information. This has prompted the WCA to list a few architects and builders who have established a good track record with WCA Member Churches.

These firms have been identified based on their work over the past 10 years. Between them they have worked on over 30 WCA Member Church building projects. Each firm understands the need for proper planning to avoid costly mistakes and provides a planning/preparation program that leads to a building design that reflects the values and mission of each unique church.

The choice of architect and builder is a personal one and a proper fit is necessary to ensure excellent results. The WCA lists these organizations based on their past record but is unable to make recommendations, we do recommend that you personally evaluate these firms according to your church's specific needs and preferences.
