ABOUT WCA Children's Ministry

Imagine church ministries around the world designed and devoted to transforming the lives of children and their families as they grow toward full devotion to Jesus Christ.

This is the vision here at WCA's Children's Ministry, and a key component of WCA's overall mission to envision, equip, and encourage Christ-following churches and church leaders around the world. We are deeply committed to serving Children's Ministry leaders in the local church, so that they can impact parents, families, and children from birth through grade 5.

These leaders include:

  • Children's Ministry Staff and Volunteers
  • Large group leaders
  • Small group leaders
  • Children's Ministry operations teams
  • Children's music, drama, and other creative arts teams

Our efforts to envision, equip, and encourage these ministry leaders are based upon a set of distinctive beliefs and core values:

  • We believe there is an interdependent relationship between a thriving church and a thriving children's ministry.

  • We believe that a person's best opportunity to become a follower of Christ happens before the age of 13. Therefore what happens in children ministries and at home during those years is vitally important to the Kingdom.

  • We believe that church, through the eyes of a child, should teach the Bible creatively, be relevant, child-targeted, safe, relational, and fun.

  • We believe that a dynamic teaching and personal relationship framework provides the strongest opportunity for spiritual transformation within a children's ministry model.

  • We believe there is a direct correlation between the success of a child's spiritual growth and a parent's involvement.

  • We aim to support ministry leaders and their teams as they impact the local community through fulfilling the spiritual needs of children and families in the local church.

  • We will continually listen to the needs of ministry leaders and their teams so we can serve them with experiences and resources that will develop their skill and increase their potential for impact.

Our goal is not to promote or showcase any one particular model for children's ministry, but to highlight best practices and innovative breakthroughs with widespread Kingdom potential from churches of any size, in any setting around the world. As fellow children's ministry practitioners, together we can build children's ministries that grow kids everywhere toward full devotion to Christ.
