9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The local church is fueled by the life-changing power of Jesus Christ, the greatest change-agent our world will ever know. Who better than God’s people to rally against extreme poverty and injustice including one of its most pervasive consequences—HIV/AIDS.
Your church can’t do it alone. No one church can. But together we can build relationships, better understand the value of partnerships, learn from those who are walking a similar path, and work together to sharpen the focus for the unique call God is placing on the heart of each congregation. This one-day forum is for every church that has been called to steward its God-given resources and ingenuity to respond to the daunting challenge.
Led by an experienced team from Willow Creek Community Church, including their partners in local churches in the Global South, this forum will allow you and others from your church to:
- Explore concrete, workable approaches for addressing this enormous challenge
- Discover how to assess your current efforts
- Make wise decisions as you develop and hone new efforts for the future
- Gain insights on the kinds of efforts that are most sustainable, encouraging long-term transformation for both the individuals and communities you serve
- Benefit from the hard-lessons-learned of those who have already navigated through some of the toughest issues
- Learn about Willow’s partnership model as you’re encouraged to use transferable principles in developing the approach that’s best for you
- Connect throughout the day with like-minded church leaders who have been captured by a common vision to address this crisis
- Walk away with specific next steps for your church
In addition to five large group sessions, you will also have the option to engage in smaller discussion groups during strategic initiative lunches. You’ll leave with a refreshed vision, practical next steps, and a team tool to help you assess your current efforts as well as your future endeavors.
