Shane Farmer — Follow Me
How many of us can imagine standing in front of our students and saying, "Follow me as I follow Christ," just like the Apostle Paul? Unfortunately for many, the demand of ministry on pastors' lives drains them of the spiritual vitality that led them into ministry in the first place. And, it is becoming increasingly obvious that the most challenging and important person to lead is never someone in our church . . . it's ourselves. If you are hoping to regain the fire in your belly in the midst of your fast-paced life, this is the Featured Breakout for you.

Shane Farmer
Shane Farmer is the Director of Student Impact, the thriving high school ministry of Willow Creek Church. Formerly a Youth Director at a small Baptist church in Oklahoma, Shane moved to the Midwest and spent three years serving in Axis, Willow's 20-something ministry, while completing his M.A. from Bethel Seminary. After graduation he became the Community Life Director of Student Impact, where he developed his passion for intentional and developmental discipleship for high school students. Shane has a lot to say about ministry philosophy, strategy and tactics, but feels very strongly that the best growth and health for any ministry comes from well practiced self-leadership in the leaders' own lives.

Lilly Lewin — Creating Sacred Space
Today we live in a culture that needs to engage the Story of God—since only 20% of our students learn best listening to the spoken word, it's time to develop skills to reach the other 80%! In this Breakout Experience, you'll learn how to move worship beyond singing and teaching beyond preaching. You'll look at what experiential worship is, specific ways to design and create worship experiences using art and interactive prayer, discuss how to develop a team, and you'll actually get to sample the experience yourself.

Lilly Lewin
As a worship consultant, Lilly is the curator of Thinplace, where she helps leaders think creatively about worship, teaching, and youth ministry. In Cincinnati, she started an experiential worship service called Sacred Space, which uses multi-sensory prayer, silence, art, discussion and multi media, integrating ancient and future forms of worship to bring liturgy new life. In 2004, she helped found Map Room—an ecumenical experiential worship community for college and post college adults in and around the University of Cincinnati. Lilly is the coauthor of the recent book Sacred Space.
