Bill HybelsBill Hybels talks about the ways REVEAL is impacting and changing his thinking as a church leader and how this new spiritual growth tool is providing insight in to key decisions for Willow Creek's ministry.
Bill Hybels is the founding and Senior Pastor of Willow Creek Community Church, in South Barrington, Illinois. He is known for his relevant, practical, and insightful Bible-based teaching and leadership. He is the author of more than 20 books and the founder of the now worldwide Leadership Summit, held each August. Working closely with Greg Hawkins, Bill has been instrumental in examining and applying the REVEAL findings at Willow Creek Community Church—and in making the REVEAL research tool available to churches everywhere through the ministry of the Willow Creek Association. His journey with REVEAL will offer insights to other pastors and church leaders who want to understand how these new findings can be applied on a practical level to help people grow spiritually.
Greg Hawkins
David LovelessGreg Hawkins provides the inside story on the very latest REVEAL learnings from 150,000 people and 500 churches. He will be joined by David Loveless, pastor of one of America's fastest growing congregations, Discovery Church in Orlando, which was among the first to take the REVEAL survey. He'll talk about how their results triggered several course corrections to the church's strategies—and together they'll look at results from Discovery's second survey, to help determine whether there have been measurable changes.
Greg Hawkins is Executive Pastor of Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois. Like many ministry leaders, he often wondered quietly to himself, "How do we know if the things we're doing are really making a difference in helping people become more like Christ?" Working with an expert research team able to use a breakthrough tool to correlate behaviors and attitudes, they set about the task of "measuring hearts." Launched at Willow Creek Community Church, the Willow Creek Association decided to see if the dramatic insights the research provided would be equally beneficial to other churches. In the year following, REVEAL expanded to 150,000 congregants in 500 churches—and uncovered very specific things churches can do to better help catalyze spiritual growth in their people, things church leaders haven't been able to see, count, or measure in the past. Greg has shared the team's findings in two books co-written with Cally Parkinson: REVEAL: Where Are You? and the recently-released, Follow Me: What's Next for You? Knowing the importance of the REVEAL findings to all Christ-following churches, Greg now divides his time between the church and the ministry of the Willow Creek Association, talking about REVEAL findings with church leaders across the country.
David Loveless is a husband, father, pastor, and leader who is extremely passionate about helping other people and churches discover every aspect of their relationship with Christ. He is senior pastor of Discovery Church, a non-denominational, Christ-centered church in Orlando, Florida. Discovery currently has 10 different weekly worship experiences on two campus locations, and in its 14 years of existence has been recognized as "one of the 10 healthiest churches in America" and "one of the fastest-growing churches in the U.S. during the 21st Century." David has also served as a speaker, consultant, and coach to numerous church and business leaders, and regularly conducts leadership conferences in various parts of the U.S. and in other countries.
Have lunch with your team off-site or purchase lunch in Willow's food court. Or, for an additional $13, we'll provide you with lunch at a Strategic Lunch Q&A session on one of two topics:
How does the REVEAL lens really work for a local church? What does a REVEAL "diagnosis" look like? Join Cally Parkinson as she walks through a Spiritual Life Survey report, using REVEAL data to figure out the greatest strengths and weaknesses of a real local church. This is a great tutorial for anyone considering the survey for their church—as well as anyone who is currently processing their Spiritual Life Survey results.
How do we know that someone is Christ-Centered? Can we trust an on-line voluntary survey process to tell us the truth about our congregations? These questions and many more will be addressed by Eric Arnson, the consumer research scientist behind the REVEAL research "black box." Eric used REVEAL-type research with more than 250 brands over 20+ years of marketplace consulting before he brought his expertise to the church world. If you have any doubts about whether or not research can truly "measure the unseen," this interactive lunch session is for you.
