Group Life 2008
Group Life Conference 2008 | October 16-18 @ Willow Creek

Film Festival

Three screens. No waiting.

How does your Group Life ministry use video? Are you experimenting with what's available? Producing your own? The Group Life Film Festival lets you view some of the latest and greatest video curriculum available, and also encourages you to submit your own videos for the world to see. The Film Festival is open before the conference from 9:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, and at selected times during the conference. The conference notebook you receive upon arrival will have schedule details.

Screen One: Curriculum Showcase

Previews, Previews, Previews...

Want to take a peek at some of the best video curriculum available? Screen One will run a continuous highlight reel of some of the best group-friendly videos from the Global Short Film Network, the Modern Parables series, BlueFish TV.com, and ReGroup™. Clips are short but range in length. A countdown timer will show how long the current clip runs before the next clip starts. A Program Guide will provide contact information on the producer and distributor of each clip.

Screen Two: Group Life Invitational

Inspiration, invitation, and training for Group Life

Do you use video clips to promote Group Life, invite people into community, or train leaders? Here's your chance to show off your work. Screen Two of the Group Life Film Festival runs an endless loop of videos that you have submitted. Fabulous prizes await the best entries, which will be featured on the big screen in the Main Sessions at the Group Life Conference. Want to submit your best work? Read the Submission Rules to learn how.

Screen Three: The Best, WORST Story

Seemed like a good idea at the time...

What's the funniest, most embarrassing, or (in retrospect) dumbest thing you've done in Group Life? From the group that wanted to study the "Dead Sea Squirrels" and the toddler in the laundry chute, to the most ill-conceived icebreaker of all time ("Tell the group the worst sin you ever committed"), these true (we think) stories will have you in stitches. Finalists will be played in Main Session Five: "Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time." Ready to submit your own Best, Worst story? Read the Submission Rules to learn how.
