The Arts Conference offers a variety of unique experiences all intended to give you the opportunity to customize your training and find exactly what you need. Most of these great experiences happen on Thursday, June 12, but some spread into Wednesday and Friday as well. You can move freely between categories, as you mix and match among all the options to design the day that best meets your needs.

Registering for ARISE automatically enrolls you in the four unique Featured Breakouts. Our Featured Breakouts give you the opportunity to learn and grow from outstanding leaders and teachers. You may exchange your Featured Breakouts for Skill Based Breakouts, or the time in the Learning Expo, or the add-on Point Leader Session, or Masters Classes. Ross Parsley
A leader and teacher on worship for more than 20 years, Ross Parsley is the worship pastor of New Life Church in Colorado Springs, CO. He is also the founder and president of New Life School of Worship, equipping young men and women to lead worship in local churches. This session offers a fascinating look at how theology and a biblical model for worship can positively impact our experience of God’s presence through worship and the arts.
Mark Batterson
Mark Batterson is lead pastor of National Community Church in Washington, DC, recently named one of the 25 Most Innovative Churches in America by Outreach Magazine. He contends that a combination of dovelike authenticity and snakelike creativity can unlock of ways of doing church no one has thought of before. Join this session to stretch your imagination as you discover new ways of redeeming technology and culture to “incarnate” the Gospel message.
Tim Stevens
As executive pastor at Granger Community Church, Tim Stevens helps Granger connect with people who think church is irrelevant. Based on the newly released book by the same name, this session will explore why it is crucial that we learn to leverage pop culture in the church. We’ll examine practical examples and the biblical foundation for conveying your message in the language of the culture.
Lauralee Farrer
Lauralee Farrer is the principal filmmaker of Burning Heart Productions and the writer/director of feature documentaries The Fair Trade and Laundry and Tosca, as well as the upcoming feature narrative Praying the Hours. In this session, you’ll explore how Christ’s artists can serve as an “intercessor” between the church and the world—creating visionary, uncompromising art that helps restore balance to a church that avoids suffering and a world that avoids hope.
Spend some time at the Learning Expo, roaming the floor, enjoying snacks, and networking with other church artists and industry professionals. A door prize will be awarded to one lucky attendee of the Extended Expo.
