Send in your entry for the Film Festival!

The 2008 Arts Conference is coming quickly — just two short months away! In 2007, we added the Film Festival to the lineup of experiences at the Arts Conference and it was such a success that we’ve included it in the 2008 lineup as well. This is a great opportunity for all of us to be inspired by the creativity of other artists. We’ll view submissions from churches around the country in the following categories:
- Promo (<90 seconds)
- My Story/Testimony (<5 minutes); cause, individual or ministry, life change
- Humor (<4 minutes)
- Drama (<10 minutes)
- Music Video (<5 minutes)
- Topical (<7 minutes); man on the street, focused on a subject area
- Animation (<3 minutes)
At the conference, we’ll watch the best videos in each category and voting will take place (by a panel of judges and attendees). The church winning the Best Video Overall will receive four free registrations to the 2009 Arts Conference. Send in your video today as entries must be postmarked by May 13, 2008. Visit artsconference08.com for all the details about the Film Festival and the rest of the activities and experiences at the Arts Conference. We’d love to see you there!

A masterful and passionate speech given 45 years ago speaks of “the fierce urgency of now,” and reminds me again that we have no time to waste in the pursuit of justice. This morning I read the entire text of King’s “I Have a Dream” speech and felt undone, humbled, inspired. “Again and again,” he writes, “we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.” Dear God, do I have the soul force to do that?
