The business community has been familiar with the term "growth engine" for years. It is only within the past several years the church has begun to apply that principle. While most of us have a difficult time referring to our churches as "businesses", we have to acknowledge that building a thriving, Acts 2 church in our culture today is a complex undertaking. More and more pastors have begun adapting business principles to help them navigate the issues arising out of growing congregations, bigger staff, larger budgets and an inadequate infrastructure.
In this session of Defining Moments, Bill Hybels and host Nancy Beach are joined by Greg Hawkins and Jim Mellado to discuss how growth engines have contributed to the growth of Willow Creek Community Church and the Willow Creek Association. Greg Hawkins also reveals the results of some telling research and how that has affected the way Willow is looking at church growth now and into the future.
